Toruń - how and where?

Toruń is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. Picturesquely located on the banks of the Vistula River. it has been propagating its traditional economy and openness to the world for nearly 800 years. The medieval old town of Toruń is a birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus. The gothic buildings of Toruń's Old Town, which won the designation of World Heritage Site from UNESCO in 1997, give proof to Toruń's centuries-old economic, cultural and intellectual ties with the leading cities of Europe associated in the Hanseatic League. How to get to Toruń?

Toruń lies on the Vistula, about two hundred kilometers north-west of Warsaw which is the closest international airport and railway hub.

You will get to Toruń most conveniently by taking a plane to Bydgoszcz, Poznań or Warsaw and then by train. It is best to use the on-line rail route planner to find out the exact departure times for the trains. Depending on your flight, the starting station may be 'Warszawa Centralna', 'Bydgoszcz Glowna', 'Poznan Glowny', 'Gdansk Glowny', 'Lodz Kaliska' and the destination is 'Torun Glowny'

The Nicolaus Copernicus University
